ASSA ABLOY Security Doors Helps Transform Iconic Television Centre

ASSA ABLOY Security Doors, a UK division of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions has supplied a large number of fire and personnel steel doorsets to the former Television Centre in White City, west London, which is being converted into high-end residential apartments.

The redevelopment of this Grade II listed landmark by architects Alford Hall Monaghan Morris will include 950 new homes, plus provide 500,000 square feet of office space, restaurants, a hotel and three new state-of-the-art studios.

The overall project was managed by Mace and the doors were procured through specialist sub contract packages. Aproximately 80 doors were supplied to the block work package and the further 50 doors were supplied as part of the internal joinery fit out package.

Nigel Cronin, Area Sales Manager for ASSA ABLOY Security Doors, said: “We’re delighted to be associated with such an iconic site. The history of the Television Centre is held dear in many people’s hearts and minds – it’s fantastic to be associated with such a well-loved landmark.

“Though it may have come to the end of its life in its former capacity, we’re proud to help transform the Television Centre into a vibrant new community in west London, while preserving its iconic status.”
