Aperio technology wirelessly links mechanical doors with any access control system /Other/ASSACOUK/Product%20Images/Cylinders/ASSA%20ABLOY%20Aperio%20cylinder%20.jpg On display at this year’s IFSEC exhibition will be ASSA ABLOY’s latest innovative locking technology, Aperio, which enables the wireless integration of mechanical locks into existing access control systems, offering a cost effective and simple security upgrade. If you are a Facilities Manager or have responsibility for security and have key control problems that are costly and time consuming, then this is the product for you. Ideal for public and commercial building extensions, Aperio has been designed to upgrade mechanically locked doors and wirelessly connect them to existing online access control systems, with minimal modification to doors and premises. This provides end-users in a variety of markets with a simple and intelligent way of upgrading the controllability and security level of their premises. Plus, Wiegand connectivity has recently been added to the Aperio offering, allowing Aperio to connect with almost all access control systems in the marketplace. Existing card credentials can be used on additional online doors and will provide real-time audits and instant updates of access restrictions through the existing access control system. Matt Thomas, Managing Director of ASSA ABLOY Access Control, said: “Aperio provides an easy-to-install and cost-effective link between online access control and physical security that allows Security Managers to conveniently increase the number of doors that can be monitored with an existing system. The recent introduction of Wiegand connectivity has enhanced Aperio’s flexibility even further, as the smart technology can now be used with any access control system that utilises a Wiegand interface “In these more austere times particularly in the public sector, Aperio is an ideal way of securing doors in refurbished or remodeled areas within a hospital or school for example, without the hassle and cost of introducing a complete, new online security system.” The full product range will be on display and will suit most systems and various communication protocols, offering different cylinder and escutcheon types as well as a new one-to-many hub. Aperio has been designed to work with a wide range of lockcases and cylinders. To find out more, visit the ASSA ABLOY stand (C50) in Hall 4 at IFSEC or log onto www.assaabloy.co.uk.
