Project Manager- Yale Real Living

Based in Berlin, CT, this role reports to the  Sr. Engineering Manager, Yale Residential and manage multiple and complex New Product Development Projects and multi-disciplinary teams (Product Management, Procurement, Marketing, Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, and Software Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales) to bring new product ideas to market in a fast-paced environment.  The development activity will be largely supported by Global partners and consist of Yale residential and commercial products. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide effective project management leadership and focus to meet product requirements, project timeline, and cost goals while managing tactical activities

  • Work closely with Product Management to define the market requirements and project scope

  • Work closely with the operations team to make sure product is fully supported and quality concerns are addressed.

  • Develops and maintains comprehensive product development, task lists and resource plans with the cross-functional team that minimizes time-to market requirements

  • Facilitates problem resolution and conducts Risk Analysis with cross-functional team to identify potential issues and develop mitigation plans to keep projects on-schedule and on-target to goals

  • Focuses on and manages quality initiatives

  • Organizes & supports approximately 4 US based project review and planning sessions with Global partners.

  • Facilitate product certification testing both in house and with third party test houses.

 

To succeed in this role we believe you need a minimum of 3 years Project Management experience with new product development.  We would consdier Mechanical/Electrical engineering and/or Product Management background a plus.  You must also be willing and able to travel to China/Korea approximately 4 times per year to conduct face to face project reviews and planning sessions with Global partners.
