Yale scoops gold at DIY Product of the Year Awards

Home security specialist Yale has scooped the Security and Safety Product of the Year Gold Award at this year’s prestigious DIY Awards for its innovative range of PVCu replacement door handles.

Voted for by experts and peers from within the DIY, hardware and security industries, the award was presented to Caroline Martin, Yale’s EMEA Marketing Manager, at London's Sheraton Park Lane Hotel as part of the Product of the Year 2010 Awards ceremony.

The award-winning replacement door handles are an ideal upgrade or replacement for dated or damaged handles.

The replacement handles have multiple fixing hole positions, so they can be used with most 92mm centre multipoint locks. Spindles and fixing screws are supplied to accommodate different door widths and the handle comes in a choice of three durable finishes – white, PVD gold and polished chrome.

Tested to 200,000 cycles for handle durability and 480 hours for handle corrosion, the door handle has a smooth sprung lever action that will help to maintain easy operation.

Commenting on the award, Caroline Martin said: “Winning the coveted Security and Safety Product of the Year Gold Award is a fantastic achievement for Yale. The fact it’s voted for by recognised industry experts adds even more kudos to the accolade.

“We have high hopes for the new handles and this award confirms they are a must-have product for merchants and retailers. Plus, the extra publicity generated by the award should help to increase demand in store.”

The Yale PVCu replacement door handles are supplied in easy to stock visi packs.
