ASSA ABLOY makes big impact at international security show

UK ASSA ABLOY Group companies, in conjunction with ASSA ABLOY EMEA, recently attended the IFSEC security show held at the NEC in Birmingham from May 11 to 14.

At the event we focused on our strengths as a leading access control enabling solutions provider. We demonstrated products designed to integrate with existing access control methods as well as standalone access control systems and a range of our door opening solutions.

We chose IFSEC, which attracts over 25,000 visitors annually, as the main launch vehicle of Aperio - the Group’s exciting new enabling technology for wireless access control. We’re pleased to say that Aperio proved extremely popular, not least because an enlarged replica of an Aperio cylinder measuring over 4 metres high could be seen from all 3 halls! Aperio was also recognised as one of 6 leading new physical security products at the IFSEC awards ceremony.

In addition to Aperio’s popularity HiO, CLIQ and Smartair also created huge interest.

IFSEC also proved the perfect place for Group personnel to see our new product technologies first hand. President and CEO Johan Molin visited our 180m2 double decker stand along the EMEA board including Executive Vice President and Head of EMEA Division Tzachi Wisenfeld. Everyone was very impressed with the stand and the way we had communicated our presence before and during the show.

Commenting on our successful participation at IFSEC 2009 John Middleton, Market Region Manager UK, Middle East & Africa, said: “IFSEC can be considered a great success from a UK and EMEA point of view. Our stand had high impact, but more importantly, exceeded expectation with respect to the launch of the new technologies, Aperio and HiO. The feedback from potential customers was very encouraging.  The benefits we see in the products were well received by visitors and we successfully created an opportunity for our customers to build sales on their existing installed base, and to offer the same to new installations. All in all, we had over 500 good leads, which we are systematically following up over the next two weeks.”
