Test Lab

The ASSA ABLOY Ltd Test Laboratory is fully equipped, is accredited by UKAS and holds Notified Status with the ability to test door sets, locks, furniture and hardware validating both security and durability. It is the largest such facility within the ASSA ABLOY Group and offers accredited testing to key performance standards, including BSEN, BS, PAS and ASTM.

The Test Laboratory is capable of testing commercial, high security and custodial grade products. Products can be tested against all environmental elements including wind and water resistance, weather, heat, humidity and salt corrosion.

The Test Laboratory is also an investment to help develop and introduce higher performance products. Whilst allowing ASSA ABLOY to test products that are under development, the Test Laboratory also represents a commitment to launching products into the market place that comply with key performance standards that apply in the UK as well as Europe.

This investment enables us to ensure that the products  we currently manufacture consistently continue to meet the performance standards they were designed to deliver.

The laboratory is staffed by some of the most highly experienced security hardware professionals in the industry. The experience and track record of Chief Test Engineer Ian Bridge and his colleagues demonstrate their ability to consistently apply rigorous standards-driven test procedures in a very professional and controlled manner.

The whole Test Laboratory facility is a reflection of ASSA ABLOY UK’s ongoing commitment and investment in product, performance and quality.
